5-for-5 Day for Edmunds Friday, October 23rd , 2048 All game long, Seattle (APP)'s Nick Edmunds was rattling the walls at Burlington Athletic Stadium and banging out base hits against the Burlington Royals. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Mariners had a 22-2 victory. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 24-year-old right fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Nick Edmunds hit a solo-shot off Brett Reed in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Joey Ferguson in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th. Thus far this season in 145 games Edmunds is batting .288 with 34 home runs, 99 RBIs and 112 runs scored. He has 156 hits in 542 at-bats. |
