Wheatley and Eli Fight, Get Suspended Wednesday, August 26th , 2048 After an intense confrontation, both the Tigers Chris Wheatley and the Yankees Arturo Eli were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Detroit-New York game. Chris Wheatley will miss 4 games, while Arturo Eli was suspended for 6 games. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Chris Wheatley commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." So far this season Wheatley has hit .254 with 19 home runs, 56 RBIs and scored 66 times. This season Eli has compiled a 7-11 record with a 5.33 ERA. |
