League Suspends Weber and Mosley for Fisticuffs
Thursday, September 10th , 2048
Yesterday at Comerica Park Adam Weber and Ted Mosley got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Weber will have to sit out 4 while Mosley would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
This season Weber has hit at a .254 clip with 38 RBIs, 8 home runs and 54 runs scored. He has played in 123 games.
This year Mosley has compiled a 16-6 record with a 3.68 ERA in 30 starts.
