Four-bagger Feast: Magne Slugs 3 for New York
Friday, September 11th , 2048
New York second baseman Roberto Magne led the Mets to a 8-3 triumph over the Cincinnati Reds, crushing three home runs.
"He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said New York skipper Rabdix Double Dip.
Indeed, Magne put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 3 runs and 6 RBIs.
"I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Magne said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em."
Roberto Magne hit a two-run home run off Eddie Grape in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eddie Grape in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Jay Rapini in the 7th.
This year Magne has collected a .236 batting average to date with 110 hits in 466 at-bats, 72 RBIs, 20 home runs and scored 64 times. He has played in 129 games.
