Gan Smacks 3 Out of the Park Saturday, September 12th , 2048 Washington Nationals shortstop Tze-meng Gan slugged three home runs against the Miami Marlins at Nationals Park, but couldn't win the game all by himself. The Marlins spoiled his day by defeating the Nationals, 10-9. "The loss puts a damper on the outstanding game Tze-meng had, but people will be buzzing about this for days to come," Washington manager Mike Shore. "That's gotta be some consolation to him. But knowing Tze-meng, he would have preferred a win." For the game, Gan was 3-for-4 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "The first two I got all of them and it was no doubt they were gone," Gan said later. "It seemed like the wind helped it a little on that last one. I just wish Mother Nature had helped us win the game, too." Tze-meng Gan hit a solo-shot off Sean Geer in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Sean Geer in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nick Newmaster in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Currently Gan has 23 home runs and a .259 batting average. |
