16 Ks for Thompson, Beats Colorado 14-1 Sunday, September 27th , 2048 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Adam Thompson, the San Diego Padres topped the Colorado Rockies today by a score of 14-1 at Petco Park. The 28-year-old Thompson brought his top game to the mound, striking out 16 batters while allowing 3 hits and giving up 2 walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Rockies manager Nicholas Carrey Jr. said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." Up to now Thompson has compiled an ERA of 4.23 with a 10-12 mark over 32 starts.
