Reliever of the Year Goes to Kennie
Saturday, November 14th , 2048
Jeremy Kennie of the Pittsburgh Pirates proved this season that age is just a number, as the 34-year-old relief stud turned in a season that was better than all his National League peers.

"Winning the Reliever of the Year at age 34 is something I didn't really expect, but I'll take it," he said.

Kennie's strong season saw him fashion a 2.44 ERA through 73.2 innings. He had 38 saves in 64 relief appearances and also put up 85 strikeouts and 25 walks. Opponents hit only .236 against the tough reliever.

He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 30. Shingo Miura of the Atlanta Braves finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Caleb Mullinax of the San Francisco Giants finished third with 1 first place vote.
