Braves-Mariners Deal: Lee for Goof
Saturday, December 19th , 2048
The Atlanta Braves and Seattle Mariners have put the finishing touches on a deal that was weeks in the making. Atlanta will part with 18-year old minor league LHP Ji-chol Lee, a 1st round draft pick, and $7,300,000 in cash, while the Mariners have dealt 35-year old 1B Floyd-William Goof.

"This one took a while to figure out," said Atlanta general manager Andres Wray II. "We must have gone back to the drawing board five or six times over the past few weeks. I'm glad we finally got the deal done. I think it is a good one for both clubs."

Seattle will retain a portion of Goof's remaining contract.

Goof is hitting at a .333 rate over his 1853-game career. Lifetime he has 435 doubles, 95 triples and 374 home runs with 1293 RBIs and 1467 runs scored.
