Injury Brings Season to End for Nieves Wednesday, August 26th , 2048 Philip Nieves has to call it a season. The Canton Indians starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 08/23/2048 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn ulnar collateral ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 11 months. The team will likely place Nieves on the injured list today. Nieves has fashioned a 6-10 mark for the season, 3.47 ERA and thrown 140 innings in 20 starts. Opposing clubs are batting .202 against him. |
