Chmieleski Blasts 3 into Bleachers
Saturday, September 5th , 2048
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Zach Chmieleski can celebrate.
The Chester Pirates first baseman powered three into the stands at ThunderBolts Center today against the Windy City ThunderBolts.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Chmieleski told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-4 as the Pirates toppled Windy City by a score of 12-4, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 4 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Chester manager Chris Peterson said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Zach Chmieleski hit a two-run home run off Dusty Haberstroh in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Dusty Haberstroh in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jeremy Brown in the 9th.
In 100 games this season Chmieleski has batted at a .368 pace with 120 hits and 62 home runs.
