Detroit Beats Paris 5-0, Herrera Ks 15 Wednesday, September 16th , 2048 Led by an outstanding performance from starter Ricky Herrera, the Detroit Red Wings topped the Paris Cubs today by a score of 5-0 at Mike Ilitch Memorial Field. The 19-year-old Herrera brought his top game to the mound, striking out 15 batters while allowing 1 hit and giving up 2 walks. "He made a lot of good pitches out there," Cubs manager Cesar Peralta said. "He made some of our guys look bad. We didn't help matters, but we really have to give him credit -- he didn't make many mistakes." Over the season Herrera has thrown 159.1 innings and dished out 225 strikeouts with a 9-6 mark and a 2.99 ERA. |
