Thrice Is Nice: Patron Unloads 3 Homers
Wednesday, October 7th , 2048
Alejandro Patron brutalized the Portland Angels pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 8-1 victory at Oregon Baseball Complex. The Calgary Flames third baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Alejandro Patron today," Angels manager Eli Boike said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Alejandro Patron hit a solo-shot off Marcell Luciano in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Jon Ray in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Jon Ray in the 8th.
Thus far this season Patron is hitting .301 with 48 home runs, 90 RBIs and 66 runs scored. He has 83 hits in 276 at-bats and has played in 111 games.
