Winnipeg Takes Round 1 Monday, October 19th , 2048 Being named series MVP was little solace for Danny Gallegos after the Winnipeg Goldeyes eliminated his Windy City ThunderBolts from the playoffs. Winnipeg won the final game 2-1 at Winnipeg International Baseball & Gold Complex and wrapped up the series 4-1. "I couldn't care less about an MVP award when we don't even win," Gallegos said. "I would rather have played terrible but still had a chance to win the World Series." Meanwhile, the Winnipeg clubhouse was alive with celebration after the victory, with the team's skipper James Atkinson saying his team is "confident and strong" going into the Quarter-Finals. The Quarter-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
