York Takes Quarter-Finals
Wednesday, October 28th , 2048
York first baseman Jason Duda couldn't hide his reaction when asked about being named MVP of the Quarter-Finals.
"It's a nice honor," he said, failing to suppress a wide smile. The trophy was presented to Duda moments after his club eliminated the Hamilton Cardinals to advance to the Semi-Finals.
York won the final game by a score of 9-6 at Revolution Field and took the series 4-2.
"We won the series and that's the main thing," Duda said. "They were a tough team and we didn't want to take anything for granted."
For the series, Duda hit .316 with a .519 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"He was tough to stop and that's a big reason they're there and we're here," said a dejected Hamilton manager Nelson Boche.
The Semi-Finals matchups and schedule will be announced after the Quarter-Finals finishes.
