Thrilling Win Pushes University of Nebraska to Next Round Thursday, January 23rd , 2048 Only one team can eventually be crowned World Series champions and the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers took a big step toward that tonight with a 5-4 win over the California State University at Fullerton Titans in the Wildcard. "The thought of our season being over if we lose a single game was motivating, so it wasn't hard to get pumped up for this one," said University of Nebraska center fielder Chris Anthony, who had 3 hits in 4 at bats to lead his team to victory. In a brief interview after the loss, California State University at Fullerton manager Stephen Wells congratulated University of Nebraska on the win and wished the club luck in the rest of the playoffs. The University of Nebraska Cornhuskers will play against the University of Georgia Bulldogs in the next round. University of Georgia had a bye in the Wildcard. The Quarter-Finals schedule will be announced after the Wildcard finishes. |
