Wickel Gets 4-0 Shutout Saturday, September 12th , 2048 Fans at Springs Brooks Stadium witnessed the University of Alabama Crimson Tide blank the Coastal Carolina University Chanticleers, 4-0 behind a superb effort by starter Chad Wickel. The University of Alabama right-hander allowed 4 hits in recording the shutout. "Chad was good today but I don't want to focus too much on a single game," University of Alabama manager Matt Perry said later. "If you're capable of playing at this level, you're capable of having a good game. The real question is if you can learn from that game and repeat it." To this point in the season, Wickel has put up these figures: 3-0 record, 5 relief appearances with 23 innings, no saves, 21 strikeouts, 3 walks and a 0.78 ERA. He has limited other teams to a .163 batting average. |
