Mets Best Braves in Pitching Duel
|
The New York Mets got a good effort from starter David Anzaldua in defeating the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field. The final score was 1-0. Anzaldua got the win, improving to 2-3. He allowed 2 hits and walked 6 over 6 innings. Anzaldua allowed no runs. The Mets, now 10-20, have not found much traction so far in 2049.
The Mets got a big at-bat from second baseman Kevin Bellman. For the game, Bellman was 2-4 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave New York a 1-0 lead.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Bellman. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
