Blue Jays Stick Athletics with 9-5 Loss
|
Toronto third baseman Dominik Hasek II had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Oakland Athletics, 9-5. With the win, Toronto raised its record to 22-11.
The Athletics had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Blue Jays going into the top of the third inning. That changed quickly when the 31-year old left fielder Willis Robles came to the plate. Robles hit a run-scoring double on a 3-1 cutter from Oakland hurler Corbin Schenn. It was Robles's 2nd double of the year.
Hasek II told the Toronto Times: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
