Oakland Athletics starter Aaron Garard pitched his team past the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-1. The victory gives Oakland a record of 19-17.
Garard, a native of Riverbank, California, was dealing all game. He kept Toronto hitters off-balance, while giving the Athletics 8 quality innings. Garard threw 100 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.
