Yankees Topple Nationals with Late Rally
|
Washington second baseman John Sanders had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Sanders was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as New York beat the Nationals, 8-6. The win puts New York at 12-22.
New York took a 8-6 lead on Geni Prawiranega's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Washington pitcher Lionardo Rabelo in the bottom of the eighth.
"I don't care about style points," Prawiranega said. "I only care about winning."
