Angels Get One-Run Win at Houston
|
The California Angels got a stellar performance from pitcher Harambe Vick, who handcuffed the Houston offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Minute Maid Park. The winning pitcher was Vick, now 5-1. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. George Poirier, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
Rusty Ney, who is tied for 4th in the AL with a 1.083 OPS, chipped in for California with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Every loss stings," said Houston manager Dave DaSilva. "This one is no exception."
This loss makes it 12 in a row for Houston.
