White Sox Drop Red Sox, 7-5
|
Chicago White Sox starter Ricky Salas turned in a workmanlike performance against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Chicago reliever Jacob Taylor was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Guadalupe Vasguez took the loss. The first-place White Sox have won 4 in a row.
Chicago used the clutch hitting of Brad Boals to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to give the White Sox the lead, 7-5. For the game, Boals had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Chicago Daily, Salas said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
