Amendoeira Leads San Diego to 9-1 Win
|
Pitcher Gerardo Amendoeira was sensational for the San Diego Padres in his team's 9-1 triumph over the St. Louis Cardinals. Amendoeira picked up the win, and it was well-earned. With the win, San Diego pushed its record to 22-17.
The Cardinals had few good swings against Amendoeira, the left-hander, who threw 106 pitches over 7.2 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 2 hits.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Amendoeira.
