Red Sox 1B Mordecai has 6 RBI in Win
|
Behind the hitting of Jarrett Mordecai, the Boston Red Sox stopped the Minnesota Twins, 8-1. Mordecai was 2 for 3 with a home run and a triple, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once for the Red Sox. Adam Schneidewind earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 4-0. Boston has now won 7 in a row.
Boston took a 6-1 lead on Mordecai's 8th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which he hit off Brad Harth in the top of the seventh, propelled Boston to the win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Boston manager Rob Diederichs.
