Brad Madden was sizzling at the plate today. In a game played at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium, the Hartford first baseman blistered the South Bend Cubs for 5 hits in 7 at-bats to pace his club to a 40-13 victory.

"Madden was too tough to get out today," Cubs skipper Tim Tebow said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too."

Brad Madden singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Mike Stein in the 7th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run triple in the 9th and flied out in the 9th.
