Royals Sneak Past Rangers, 6-5
|
The Kansas City Royals defeated the Texas Rangers, 6-5, at Globe Life Park in Arlington today. Leading the charge for Kansas City was right fielder Roman Downey. The second-place Royals improved to 27-23.
Kansas City needed the clutch hitting of Gil Switzer to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Royals on top, 6-4. For the game, Switzer had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
