Nationals Topple Marlins, 6-3
|
No one was more impactful than Seth Cook in the 6-3 Washington win over Miami. Cook, who is tied for 7th in the NL in doubles with 14, was 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. David Sly got credit for the save for Washington. It was his 9th of the year. Washington is now 27-31, Miami 28-30.
In the first inning, Cook had a 2-run home run for Washington. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Nationals on top, 2-0.
"We played hard and won," said Cook. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
