Braves Deal Cubs 10-3 Loss
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Atlanta Braves beat the Chicago Cubs, 10-3, at Wrigley Field. Erik Gretzky, in particular, was impressive. He was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Matthew Spurrell got credit for the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 6.2 innings.
Atlanta used the clutch hitting of Erik Coleman to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Braves the lead, 5-3. For the game, Coleman had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Gretzky. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
The Braves have an impressive 45-16 record.
