Politi Raps Eugene for 5 Hits
Ben Politi exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

The State College right fielder had a field day in the 27-0 triumph over the Eugene Emeralds, finishing 5-for-7.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Politi must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Ben Politi singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, walked in the 6th, doubled in the 7th and grounded out in the 7th.

For the season Politi is currently batting .248 with 2 home runs and 20 RBIs. In 40 games he has reached base at a .324 rate and scored 24 runs to date.
