Fredrick Nails 4 Homers Against Washington (APP)
Even 4 home runs was not enough for the Philadelphia (APP) Phillies today.

The Phillies wasted a history-making game from third baseman Sam Fredrick, coming out on the wrong end of an unlikely 38-11 Washington (APP) Nationals victory. Fredrick put on a massive display of power against Washington (APP), smashing 4 home runs in 5 at-bats.

"There have been a few times when I consciously tried to hit one out," said Fredrick, "but it doesn't often work. Well, it worked today for the last one. I guess this day was just meant to be. I just wished it had included a win."

The Philadelphia (APP) third baseman went 4-for-5, had 6 RBIs, and scored 4 times in the game.

"That guy was basically unstoppable today," Nationals manager Andy Vazquez said later. "Thankfully, it's a team sport."

Sam Fredrick hit a solo-shot off Luke Cook in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Luke Cook in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Karl-Anthony Aure in the 4th, struck out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Cody Hadden in the 9th.

Fredrick is batting .376 this season in 24 games with 21 home runs, 39 RBIs and 35 runs scored. He has 32 hits in 85 at-bats.
