The Atlanta Braves bested the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 8-3, with left fielder Erik Gretzky getting the main credit. On the day, Gretzky was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Braves. The winning pitcher was Curt Stevens. His record is now 9-3. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Braves. The victory gives Atlanta a record of 52-21.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Vergara told the Atlanta Daily News.
