Red Sox Drop Nationals, 9-6
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Boston Red Sox and Washington Nationals came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The Boston Red Sox knocked off the Washington Nationals, 9-6, at Nationals Park. Jarrett Mordecai was a big reason Boston won. The first baseman was 2-2 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Reece Nichols earned the win for Boston. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 9-6.

Boston took a 7-5 lead on David Price Jr.'s 16th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Price Jr. hit in the top of the eighth, left Washington pitcher George Kellum visibly frustrated.

"I still think this team can play even better," Mordecai told the Boston Observer.

Boston is now riding a 3-game win streak.
