White Sox Get Past Texas for 4-3 Win
|
Dietmar Warmisch left his imprint on the 4-3 Chicago win against the Texas Rangers. Warmisch, who is a two-time All-Star, was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winning pitcher was Ricky Salas. He's now 10-2. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits for the White Sox. Jacob Taylor earned the save for Chicago, his 18th.
Warmisch had a timely hit for Chicago in the top of the eighth. With Texas trailing 3-2, he turned a first pitch changeup into a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Chicago.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Chicago manager Jake Turnbull.
The Rangers, now 41-42, have lost 4 in a row.
