Morrison Helps Rockies Beat Pirates, 8-6
The timely hitting of Shawn Morrison helped the Colorado Rockies down the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-6. Morrison was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Rockies. Colorado reliever Davon Ware picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tim Wichman took the loss. The 4th-place Rockies are 44-42.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Morrison, who is tied for 10th in the NL in hits with 92, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Rockies into the lead, 5-4.

"Enjoyed this one," Morrison told the Colorado Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
