6-4 Loss Deepens Minnesota Funk
|
California picked up a win at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, bumping off the Minnesota Twins, 6-4. Pitcher Jeff Baker was a major reason the Angels emerged victorious. George Poirier was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 14 save opportunities. Minnesota is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 6 in a row.
Mark Reeg, who is tied for 2nd in the AL with a .644 slugging percentage, chipped in for California with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said California manager Dakota Wise.
