White Sox Down Blue Jays, 2-1
|
U.S. Cellular Field was host to some action-packed drama.
The Toronto Blue Jays got a superb performance from pitcher Javy Falcon. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The White Sox won the game, 2-1. Falcon threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Jacob Taylor picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Tim Franco was tagged with the loss.
Chicago won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Tim Franco on the mound for Toronto, right fielder Marvin McAleer hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing White Sox fans to their feet.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said McAleer.
With the win, Chicago raised its record to 62-27.
