Herrera Fires No-Hitter
Detroit Red Wings starter Ricky Herrera said he was standing behind the mound when the scoreboard caught his eye, confirming what he already knew: He was one out from a no-hitter. For a couple of seconds, he didn't move.

"I took a breath and told myself 'This is the last one,'" Herrera recalled.

The left-hander collected himself, got the final out, and finished one of the greatest performances of his career.

The Detroit left-hander no-hit the York Revolution 7-0 at Revolution Field, finishing with 1 walks and 15 strikeouts, facing only 28 batters.

"I knew for a while it was a no-hitter," Herrera admitted later. "But I really didn't worry about it until the last out. I thought I just wanted to win the game, and then I realized I wanted the no-hitter, too."

In pitching stats this season Herrera has rung up 10 wins and 1 loss in 14 games. He has an ERA of 1.80 and has fanned 147 batters in 100 innings.
