Brewers Fall Short, 4-3, at Cincinnati
|
The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-3. On the mound for Cincinnati was left-hander Dave Rivera, who played a pivotal role in the win. Rivera, now 9-3, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. Ryan Terlizzi sewed up the save, his 23rd.
Chris Grunwald, who finished 3rd in the NL in home runs with 38 last year, helped out the Cincinnati cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 3 with a double.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Cincinnati manager Jimmy Silveira II.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Cincinnati.
