Mariners Squelch Angels Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Seattle Mariners racked up a win at Safeco Field, bumping off the California Angels, 3-0. David Anaya, who started for Seattle, pitched effectively for his team. Willie Sanchez, credited with the save, is now 2 for 3 in save opportunities. The victory puts Seattle at 38-60.
Pavpv Ivanushkin drove in one run for Seattle. The 29-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jose Saenz. It was his 48th RBI of the season.
"Winning never gets dull," said Ivanushkin.
