5 Straight Wins for Marlins
|
Marlins Park was the site of a competitive game between the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins.
Roger Salazar was instrumental in his team's 5-3 triumph over the Washington Nationals. The shortstop was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Miami Marlins. Tim Barnett earned the save, his 2nd, for the Marlins.
Andre Gorter, who finished 5th in the NL in OPS with 1.024 in 2043, aided the Miami cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Gorter. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
Washington's current losing streak is now 4 games.
