3-2 Loss Extends Washington Losing Streak
|
The New York Mets picked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the Washington Nationals, 3-2. On the mound for New York was right-hander Billy McIntyre, who played a pivotal role in the win. McIntyre went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 10-7. Washington has now lost 7 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the sixth, New York third baseman Drtian Thaqi put his team on top. With two out and the bases loaded, he hit his 15th double of the year. Washington pitcher Jon Glenn served it up. Just like that, the Mets were ahead, 3-2.
"We found a way to get it done," McIntyre said.
