Astros Get Past Oakland for 7-6 Win
|
Eric Katz impressed in the 7-6 Houston win over Oakland. Katz, who finished 4th in the NL in extra base hits with 82 in 2042, was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Kyle McPeak, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. Lance Crumpton earned the save for Houston, his 7th of the year.
Jeremy Trump provided a timely hit. The Houston second baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Astros on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Trump said after the game.
The Athletics, at 47-55, have lost 4 straight games.
