Miami Beats St. Louis, 3-2
|
Busch Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals.
Miami Marlins starter Matt Payne turned in a sterling performance against the St. Louis Cardinals, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Miami is second in the National League East Division with a record of 48-54.
Miami relied on the hitting of Bert Clark to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Marlins on top, 3-2. For the game, Clark had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Clark.
