Cardinals Get One-Run Win at San Francisco
|
The St. Louis Cardinals got a magnificent performance from pitcher John Fisher, who muffled the San Francisco offense en route to a tight 1-0 Cardinals win at AT&T Park. The winning pitcher was Fisher, now 6-5. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. The Cardinals go to 50-57, putting them second in the National League Central Division.
In the top of the first, Antoine Roux ambushed a 1-2 changeup from Curt Howland and hit a solo home run. It gave St. Louis a quick 1-0 lead.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Fisher told the St. Louis Observer.
