Blue Jays Top Braves, 7-5
|
Good production from catcher Matt Altieri helped the Toronto Blue Jays topple the Atlanta Braves, 7-5. Altieri was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Blue Jays. Tim Franco earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 5-2. Toronto has an impressive 74-35 record.
Altieri had a timely hit for Toronto in the bottom of the eighth. With Atlanta trailing 5-4, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season, making it 7-5, Toronto.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Altieri told the Toronto Times.
