With 5-1 Win, Giants Improve to 62-53
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the California Angels and San Francisco Giants get after it.
The San Francisco Giants downed the California Angels, 5-1. The hitting star was first baseman Jack Henningar. Henningar was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Giants. The triumph puts San Francisco at 62-53 for the season.
Henningar contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for San Francisco in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Henningar took a changeup from Matt Decker and stroked the home run to left. His 32nd home run of the season allowed the Giants to leap in front, 2-1.
Henningar called the win "a collective effort."
