Brewers Win in Extras, 6-5
|
The Milwaukee Brewers dealt the Philadelphia Phillies a 6-5 loss at Citizens Bank Park. Jason Peck was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Timóteo Metzener, now 6-7, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 0. Jeff Urry collected his 4th save.
Milwaukee used a timely hit from Daniel Donovan to get the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Brewers ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Donovan, "and go after the next one."
Milwaukee, at 50-64, holds down 4th place in the National League Central Division.
