Guardians Nip Royals, 4-3
|
The Cleveland Guardians had to overcome a fine effort from Kansas City pitcher John Hall to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Kauffman Stadium. Hall went 6.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Cleveland is now 52-71, while Kansas City is 68-55.
Nick Ogle, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ogle contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Cleveland up, 4-3.
Ogle called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
