Rangers Walk It Off for 59th Win of Season
|
The Texas Rangers withstood an impressive performance by California center fielder Bjoern Waltersson to defeat the Angels, 9-8, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Waltersson went 4-4 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 4 runs. Texas reliever Kyle Curve picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Keith Pratt absorbed the loss. The third-place Rangers now have a win-loss record of 59-68.
Vince Ealy was the walk-off hero for Texas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rangers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We came out aggressive," said Rangers manager Juan Smith III. "We came out swinging the bats."
