The Houston Astros defeated the Oakland Athletics, 3-0, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. Houston pitcher Jimmy Edlin had a standout performance. Lance Crumpton collected his 12th save. The Astros improve their record to 54-73 with the win over Oakland.
Edlin, who was born in Galveston, Texas, threw 96 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
Edlin called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
